History
APS is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) made up of individuals and groups of grassroots community members working towards development and relief of the poverty afflicting our country. APS is apolitical, not-for-profit and essentially based on socio-economic activities, the promotion of human, women’s, and children’s rights, capacity building, peace, gender, and development.
APS was created in 1986 by a group of youth concerned about the future of our country and was officially recognized by public authorities in 1993, notably by the Minster of Territorial Administration, following Récépissé n° 153 / MAT / SG / DGAT / DLPAJ of October 22nd 1993 and by Letter n° 153 / MAT / SG / DGAT / DLPAJ of November 10, 1994 of the Minister of the Economy and Finance, as an NGO of National Development.
APS is a member of RECIF / ONG-BF, a structure representing women in Burkina Faso’s NGOs, a founding member of the Union of Burkinabé Associations for Grassroots Development (l’Union des Associations Burkinabé pour un développement à la base UABDB), a founding member of the Network of Associations and Groups in the Rural World (Réseau des associations et groupements du monde rural RAGMR), a member of the Solidarity Foundation (Fondation tous solidaires FTS), of the Network GAO in France, of the Framework for Teamwork and Promotion of Water and Hygiene (Cadre de concertation et de promotion eau et assainissement CCPEA) and many other networks and international organizations.
APS benefits from several periodicals and other information in the area of its development activities.
APS' ambition is to help local populations, espeically those in difficulty, and more precisely through the promotion of Projects or Programmes through which the concerned population takes charge of its own development and adopts a spirit of self-promotion.
