APS' philosophy, applied in all its activities, is that development is an exchange between partners, a sharing of ideas as opposed to a presentation of solutions. In practice, we link directly or indirectly with all the stakeholders to promote sustainable development and improve living conditions.
APS' mission is to contribute to breaking down the great barriers to development that keep the population of this country in a state of poverty. These barriers include:
- food supply difficulties
- a lack of potable water
- desertification
- decreasing soil fertility and ground water reservoir quality
- economic weakness
- endemic and pandemic disease, especially those affecting women and children
- illiteracy
- the absence of true democracy
